Denise's 3rd Haircut
Yes, you read it right! Denise is turning 4 this December and last Friday was only her 3rd haircut! And the most expensive, so far ($13.90; still cheap comparing to some kids salon charges...:p)
To parents who are wondering when will you ever get to tie your girl's hair... Well, Denise was born with "very little" hair. It literally took us yeee..aaaarrrrsss.... to grow her hair to this length. Her hairstylist-cum-mummy only trims her fringe when it covers her eyebrows. So there is hope for everyone....hahah.....

Blogging!
This week was Debbie's 2nd week back in church. Many parents came up and told me to enjoy her infant stage. They say babies grow up so fast and we will forget how they were when they were babies. And how they wish their children were babies again...:)
I enjoyed every of Denise's growing stage. Whether as an infant, starting solid, sitting, crawling, walking or eventually running... Whether it was carrying her in my sling to work, taking public transport to office every morning or eventually to driving her to school now.
Every moment was sweet and memorable. But I never look back and wish for those moments again... Not that those were dreading moments but I look forward to every new things that she will do. And the surprises she will bring as she grows up!
For parents that think they will forget the growing up years of their children, try blogging! At least blogging ensures that you keep a record of their growing up photos and those unforgettable moments!

Debbie's FIRST Bath
Debbie turns out much eaiser to handle as compared to when Denise was an infant. Debbie enjoys taking her bath!
Denise was different when she was a baby. I remember telling Denise that the "whole of Jurong" can hear her screams when I take a bath for her...:p But she still turns out fine... Now, Denise has no problem going under the shower and letting water (with bubbles!) run down her face! It's something not many children can do...:)

Debbie - My Baby Sister (10 July 2007)
Finally, Mummy is back to update my blog... (Thousand apologies to all my fans out there! Mummy is still deciding if Debbie and I should share a single blog...)
After a rough count, more than 74 family and friends came to visit Mummy and Debbie in the hospital! We received loads and loads of Pampers (sizes ranging from Newborn - M), countless boxes of Chicken Essence, ang bao and many other gifts... Thanks to all Uncles and Aunties for your generosity!

Daddy and Mummy says that Debbie looks like me... What do you think?
One thing for sure... I am definitely enjoying being a BIG SISTER! For those thinking of stopping at ONE, do not deprive your only child of enjoying sibling relationships...:)

This is a super-outdated post. I just downloaded these photos from my camera to make space for Debbie's photos.
Denise performing in Pat's Schoolhouse during this year's Chinese New Year. Early in the morning, the school was already filled with proud parents, ready to capture every moment of their children's performance.
Denise was dressed up too! I took half day so that I can spend some time at the Fund-raising Carnival with her and of course, to capture as many photos as I can of her dancing and singing...:)

Mummy Warded!
Denise came to visit me when I was warded in the hospital for observation recently. It was a preview of how it would be like when I deliver Debbie next week. She kept asking why must I stay in the hospital... Can she stay with me... Who is going to pat her to sleep... But she is indeed a reasonable girl! When it was time to go home, she gladly kissed goodbye and left with JX.
But when she was home, JX had to distract her with her new Polly Pocket toy. She woke up in the middle of the night crying for me...but JX managed to put her back to sleep. Wonder how it would be like when I get warded for 3 days after my delivery!!!
Another Birthday! Nicole Tay (19 Jun 2007)
Denise attended another birthday in Suntec Nursery. This time Nicole was celebrating her 2nd birthday!
Denise was very excited. She was all over the cake when the people were singing Happy Birthday song to Nicole.
Even though it's in December, I am already thinking what birthday cake should I get for her 4th birthday!...:)

First Trip to the Movie (31 May 2007)
Yesterday was Denise's 1st trip to the movie! We were ready with our popcorns and Coke...:)Our seats were 4 rows away from the screen and I think it was too intimidating for her! When the commercial came on, she clung on to JX and cried...:( I guess she just didn't like the big images and dark surroundings...:( JX had to bring her out to calm her down.
Not wanting to waste the tickets, I was determined to "make" her stay for the show. In the end, we found an empty lover couch at the back of the theatre and she only agreed to come in when I promised I will hold her throughout the show...:)
We sat at the back and the moment the movie started, she forgot all about the darkness...:) And even asked for her Shrek hairband! However, 3/4 into the show, she was tired and fell alseep in my arms...:p She did not even catch the ending...hahahha.....

Denise's Bedroom
Beginning of this year, we decided that it was time that Denise has her own room and place to keep all her books and ever-growing toys. JX spent an ENTIRE night decorating the room while Denise and myself were sleeping...:p
Denise was so..so...so...excited when she saw her room!!! I was impressed by JX too...:) He did this all by himself!

Christian & Kean's Birthday (22 May 2007)
Christian likes Bob the Builder and Kean is into Barney now. Irene (Kean's mummy) ordered an unique "book" birthday cake, with Bob and Barney printed on each page!
The food was fantastic! Especially Irene's mum's curry... HOT! but yummy...:)
Many kids came and Denise definitely enjoyed herself. I think she ate 4 fishballs and countless of cocktail sausages...:)

And we promised Denise we will bring her to the screening of Shrek 3 when it opens on May 31. This will be her first movie trip! This morning, Uncle Francis gave us 2 tickets to Shrek3!!! and it comes with 2 small combo...:)
Thank you, Uncle Francis!

Duck Tour (24 March 2007)
The view was excellent! We could even come near to the new IR site, new NDP performance site, the Singapore Flyer and the Merlion! Needless to say, until today, Denise still remembers the trip and will exclaim "Duck Tour" whenever we see one around Suntec area.

ZZZzzzz.....
This afternoon, JX and myself wanted to reach church earlier so we decided to prepare Denise first. Her nap time is usually between 2-4pm and on Saturdays, she will normally sleep in the car, on the way to church.
So we showered her, changed her and she put on her shoes herself. We can hear her playing and talking to herself in the living room from our room. Suddenly I realised that it was totally quiet outside and this was what I saw...
Denise fell asleep on our coffee table while waiting for us!!! She must have been so tired to fall asleep in such a position...:p

Happy Mother's Day (13 May 2007)
And this evening when I fetched her from school, she came running with an art & craft in her hand. She shouted, "Happy Mother's Day! I love you Mummy! Love from Denise..."
It was a beautiful little frame she did in school today. Nothing worth more than the gift your little ones made themselves....(all mothers understand that...) My husband asks me what do I want for Mother's Day.... Well, I already have what I wanted...*wink*

Ethan Chai's 2nd Birthday @ Gymboree
The cake was a very nice Mickey Mouse! And the host prepared home-made mini-pizzas and chocolate crepe for us! Even the drinks provided was "less in sugar"...:) It was a totally healthy and child-friendly party which both the adults and children enjoyed!
Fever!!!
Denise was down with a fever last Tuesday (May 1). Her fever usually does not last more than 2 days and we were not too worried either. However, her temperature escalated in the night and we decided to bring her to the doctor. See how hip she is even though she was sick...:p
Doctor gave her paracetemol and antibiotics to ease her throat infection. But it didn't help...:( I took 2 days off on Thursday and Friday to look after her at home. Finally we couldn't take it anymore! Brought her to Gleneagles on Saturday evening and her temperature was 39.8 degrees!!!
Doctor gave her a suppository which should bring her temperature down fast. Supposed to ward her but only 4-bedder rooms left. As isolating her would be a better choice, we decided to bring her home with the stronger medication given.
Praise God! She obediently took all the medication and her temperature is much lower today...:) Usually I am not too worried about viral fever but 6 days of fever?!? After I came back from the hospital, a friend told me, "See, I told you that it is a viral fever...ha..." I was a little mad!!!
By the way, I already knew that it was a viral fever...but what virus is that? Denise never had fever for more than 2 days and I am not taking chances... Read too many horrible stories of parents losing their young children to bacteria attack...and I AM NOT TAKING CHANCES!!!
Anyway, she is well and up again! Will keep her away from school for another day. Back to work for me and school for her on Tuesday!

Denise the Photographer (1)
Potato-Man
Part of Denise's school curriculum is Art & Craft. She has been bringing back many interesting works that she did in school. We bought Ikea boxes to keep them in her room. This Potato-Man is one of the more interesting ones but doubt if I can keep it for long since it's made from REAL potato... Better snap a picture before it starts to rot!

That "SMILE"
Denise's Best Friends
For those of you that subscribe to Disney Playhouse Channel, you will notice a Yellow Clay that appears on screen to introduce the next program. There is one particular segment where he will introduce his best friend, Green Clay.
Last night, when that segment appeared, I casually asked Denise who her best friends are. She replied, "Daddy, Mummy and Baby Debbie!"
It is heart-warming to know that she has already included Debbie into the family! This is our 1st family portrait!

Denise, My Girl!
JX and myself brought Denise to the market and I had fainting spells. As it wasn't the first time, Denise did not make a fuss when we had to cut-short the trip and head back into the car. Usually when JX goes and get food, Denise will insist on wanting to follow. However, that night, she told Daddy, "I will stay in the car to take care of Mummy!" I was so touched! My girl has "grown up"....:)

All the late night feedings, frustrations when she doesn't take instructions, wetting of bed, constant whining... Sigh, it's all worth it!

Denise Back in Action!
It's been a looooo.....nnnnng time since I last posted for Denise. Sigh...blame it on my complacency...
Anyway, this is the latest with Denise...
She has been tying her hair in school. Finally I can keep her hair long without having to worry about them falling all over her face...:)
This is Denise and her nursery friend, Ethan. See how they have grown when they met again in nursery recently!

And this is the latest photo we took of her when we brought her to the Arcade last weekend. This Super-Mario car racing machine allows you to take a picture before the game begins. This is Super-Denise!!!

A Trip To Sentosa (Jan 3-4)
During my 2 week's break, I was too tired to travel overseas. However we wanted to do something different with Denise. Decided to travel "overseas" to SENTOSA! (ha..ha...)
Went to the beach; the weather was super-good for beach. As it was a weekday, the Siloso beach was near empty. We had a fun time building sand-castle and letting Denise get herself wet and dirty in the sand! Initially she was afraid of the muddy water, then she decided to venture deeper into the water...:)

We checked into Siloso Beach Resort for a night. It is a new resort, located just beside Siloso Beach. Its facilities is very new and all their hotel rooms face the beach! The pool is huge; it has a water slide and a giant water feature! We could even enjoy the sea view when we had breakfast at its rooftop the next morning!

For the 2D1N trip (...:p), we visited the Siloso Beach, Musical Fountain, Underwater World, Dolphin Lagoon and even had lunch at Sakae Sushi. It was enjoyable because we did not have to rush through the visits and when we were tired, we even get to nap in our room. Not bad for a Sentosa trip...:)
