Happenings in August

August had been a feasting month! Thanks for celebrating my birthday with me :)

Birthday & BirthdayS

First of all, Nathan had a birthday celebration by Mad Science.

Kids get to do some interesting experiment. It was a birthday celebration of a different kind.

The highlight was of course the cake. Not only did the Cars2-themed cake captivated the kids' attention, the chocolate fillings of the cake was equally appealing! One of the best chocolate cake I have tasted. Do check out Pat's Pastry (Not related to Pat's Schoolhouse :p)

Then we attended Darren's birthday party on Sunday. He had a Dragonball-themed cake! Woohoo!

Denise - 8th Birthday Celebration

Denise celebrated her 8th Birthday at Outback Steakhouse.

The celebration started with a kitchen tour. The kids were introduced to their various stations, chiller and freezer.

Every kid had Pasta with chicken finger while the adults had either chicken or fish burger :) The children also put together their own Outback Signature dessert "Chocolate Thunder From Down Under".

Thank you to all the little friends for coming and making it so special for Denise :) And thank you Uncles and Aunties for your generosity! She loves all the presents :)

Birthday Celebration Continues...

Debbie celebrated Part 2 of her birthday in school. Simple affair - Dora cake with nuggets, Dora plates, napkins, fun picks and goodie bags :)

No bouncy castle, magician, balloon sculpture, face-painting, clowns.... Yes, just something simple :)

Happy 4th Birthday Debbie!

Finally she turned 4! Debbie picked the theme and chose her guests.

Dora! I bought Dora cupcake stand, Dora loot bag, Dora paper plates, Dora napkins, Dora fun picks and printed Dora invitation cards for her classmates. Thank you, Aunty Jenny, for the beautiful and delicious cupcakes that sat so nicely on the stand. (if anyone wants to borrow the stand for your gal's birthday, please let me know)

She named her guests one by one. She was very specific in who she wanted to invite. One mother asked me if I was really going to let her decide... I told her "it's her party" :)

Thank you everyone for your generosity! Your presence and presents made her day. Some of her remarks were "Oh, I always wanted this!", "Oh my goodness!" and "Wah.... I like this!".

Angry Bird Birthday Party

What a pretty birthday cake!! I promise the mother not to mention the cost... :)

Debbie took one of the birds. She didn't forget to pose with it before eating it :)

There were magic show and face painting. The birthday boy, Darren, and Denise had their faces painted.

Denise's 7th Birthday Celebration

Denise's birthday celebration started in November on the last day of school.

We bought cupcakes from Crystal Jade and had a simple celebration during recess time.

To take advantage of her Swensens Kid's Club membership, we went there THRICE to have dessert in December :)

On her actual day, Denise had complimentary "Firehouse" from Swensens.

Part of her celebration includes watching Yogi Bear :)

The day before her actual day, we invited some of her friends over for a mini-celebration. We took the opportunity to invite our friends over to our new place. Not a house-warming; but more of like sharing the joy of moving into a new place with them :)

Magician Shiny Shawny entertained the children.

Debbie's 3rd Birthday

We had a simple celebration for Debbie in school. Just watched Toy Story 3 and she requested for a Toy Story cake. So we ordered an ice-cream cake from Swensens.

Had simple cake-cutting session during lunch time. Gave out goodies-bags to the children and that's it! :)

Went to Sakae Sushi for lunch on Saturday. We asked her to order whatever she wanted. She chose a Fire Engine Kids Meal.

After lunch, we brought her to buy her birthday present. She chose a Wooden Alphabet Set from Mothercare. During the week, she also received presents from our friends! Thanks for loving our little Debbie!

Birthday Party @ McD

Denise attended her FIRST birthday party for 2010. Her FMS(P) classmate celebrated his birthday at McDonalds.

There were the usual stuff... Goodie bags, games and food! You can never go wrong with a McDonald party.

Denise 6th Birthday

Denise turned 6 on 27th December, 2009. We usually celebrate her birthday 2 weeks earlier to coincide with the last day of school. Choosing a date was difficult because most of her classmates were going away before they start their P1. Thus we decided to combine celebration with Regan, another classmate whose birthday also falls in December. Denise and Regan wanted to invite both the K2 classes from Pat's Schoolhouse. As such, I decided to keep the celebration to just her classmates as the crowd was simply too huge!

First we decided on the date: 13 Dec, 2009. Then the venue: Kidz Amaze @ Jurong Safra. The next difficult decision was the cake! As the other child was going to have a cake, we decided on having an Agar-Agar cake for Denise instead.

It was not too hard deciding on the character: Tinkerbell! I had wanted to bun up her hair and dress her in green... But decided that it would be too much "work"...:p The agar-agar idea turned out to be great because it was cut, distributed and gone in record time!

Of course, the next BIG decision to make was the content of the goodie-bag! First we shopped for the bags, then we decided on the content. Besides the usual tit-bits and candies, we gave out quite a number of craft stuff like sand art and craft, crayons, eraser, rubber stamps, stickers etc. Denise helped me packed them...:) Look pretty impressive huh?

Don't get distracted by the Ben 10 cake...:p The focus is the family picture we took after cake-cutting... Haha....

Finally, present opening time! Thank you everyone for your generosity! It was a long and definitely unforgetable party for Denise!

JWT Kids Gym

Bryan's birthday party was held at JWT Kids Gym in the evening, after Jaden's celebration. Most of the children had time to go home and freshen up. This is a great place to "use up" their energy... The theme was Crazy Relay. So the children formed 2 teams and had to compete with each other to complete certain obstacles.

Parents were included for the last session. We had foam ball fight; parents vs children...:) Basically pick up the balls and attack each other... Haha...

Of course, more food again! Bryan had a Ben 10 Birthday cake; complete with figurines and landscape! How cool!
