Yumz @ Bangkok

Beginning of this year, I set a personal resolution to make an overseas trip without JX and the kids. Yes, I have never travelled without them ever since we got married. However, I was prepared with dataroaming and a Thailand SIM card for the children to call me anytime.

So, 4 of us embarked on our 4D3N "mummies only" Bangkok holiday! First of all, we had to fly in style.... what else but Singapore Airlines :) My previous stay in Amari Watergate was pleasant; we decided to stay there this time :)

And this post is all about FOOD in Bangkok :) Cheap and yummy :)

Disney Channel - Phineas and Ferb

Thanks to Ed Unloaded and the people at Disney Channel; my children received a Phineas and Ferb Goodie Bag.

The bag contains a folder, a notebook, a pencil case and a towel! Great gifts for my children as they are fans of the cartoon :)

A Day Out At Sentosa

During the March holidays, we brought the kids to Sentosa on a Wednesday to take advantage of the Double Wednesday Promotion at Wave House Sentosa. Everything; Waves, Food, Drinks going at 1 For 1 :) What better time to bring the kids for some pizza and nachos beside the beach!

I did not expect the children to be "bold" enough; we did not pack their swim wear. End up promising Denise to bring her back again.

However, they had fun at the beach! Not having proper swim wear did not stop them from having a blast!

Tried the Skyline Luge for the first time! Part go-cart, part toboggan, the Luge offers a truly unique outdoor experience suitable for all ages that is not found anywhere else in Singapore or Southeast Asia. The ride up was very scenic! However, we were more concerned about not losing our slippers :p

Debbie didn't make it for the height limit to ride the Luge on her own, but we sure had a fun time riding it together :) Next on our to-do list at Sentosa would be the iFly Singapore.

Johor Premium Outlets

Brought the kids to Johor Premium Outlets. Pardon Deb's expression; she was just trying to be funny...:p The journey there was ultra-smooth for a Monday afternoon. The food was expensive by Malaysia standard; RM$10.90 for a plate of simple Nasi-Lemak and RM$15.90 for a Breaded Chicken Chop at the food court. Shopping for International Brands was not exactly cheap. But you can still find good buys from Nike, Adidas or Padini Concept Store...

After 6 hours of non-stop walking at JPO, we headed to JUSCO at Bukit Indah for dinner and grocery shopping at JUSCO. Everything seems "more expensive" in RM. Imagine 2 tubs of Ben & Jerry at $55! Well, RM$55... Even the iced Milo was larger than life!

Managed to find some bargains at JPO.... A pair of Nike Vomero+ 5 price slashed from RM$519 to RM$139 and a pair of Geox from RM$699.90 to RM$259.90... And of course, some other stuff for the man and kids :)

Mcdonalds Kitchen Tour

We registered at least 2 months in advance for the Open Doors Kitchen Tour. The purpose of the tour is to educate the public on the what goes into a Mcdonald meal... "love the truth, about our food". Apparently we were told that this was the last tour for the year.

Introducing the Front counter

Blue gloves used for handling raw food

Crew Area

Complimentary drinks and fries after the tour

The kids were each given a hanging ornament after the tour. Denise chose the Apple Pie and Debbie chose the Big Mac :)

Art Sense

Denise and Debbie were invited to Art Sense Open House last Sunday. The different between Art Sense and other centres is that the environment is at the heart of everything they do. They believe in teaching their students the value of recycling and re-using common household items by turning them into art pieces.

The kids had fun using recycled material and using their creativity to make them into 3D crafts.

Check Art Sense bithrday packages if you are looking for an unique place to celebrate your young ones' birthday.

Birthday & BirthdayS

First of all, Nathan had a birthday celebration by Mad Science.

Kids get to do some interesting experiment. It was a birthday celebration of a different kind.

The highlight was of course the cake. Not only did the Cars2-themed cake captivated the kids' attention, the chocolate fillings of the cake was equally appealing! One of the best chocolate cake I have tasted. Do check out Pat's Pastry (Not related to Pat's Schoolhouse :p)

Then we attended Darren's birthday party on Sunday. He had a Dragonball-themed cake! Woohoo!

It is the time of the year for Lion Dance Performatnce at our place again :) The kids woke up on time to catch the performance :)

Debbie also had her share of celebration in school by doing chinese calligraphy and practising for her CNY school performance the following Friday.

Gonna post the celebration pictures next week :)

My Ipanema Beach Kit

My family will be heading out to the beach real soon! I received my Ipanema Beach Kit from Royal Sporting House today! Thanks to EdUnloaded's Giveaway in Dec 2011.

The kit consists of a beach mat, colourful beach towel and a metal water bottle :)

We have always been a Ipanema fan. In fact we bought the girls matching sandels when Debbie was only 2. Look how small her feet were :p

A New Blog: Lessons I Learnt From My Kids

The best thing about having children is that instead of teaching them; you learnt new things from them all the time!

I decided to start a blog on "Lessons I Learnt From My Kids" and will *try to* post something every week :) Visit the new blog to find out what did I learn on the first week of 2012 :)

Going back to school :(

Going back to school is very sad. I was a little nervous and a little excited to go to school. Nervous because I'm scared that I may have a fierce teacher, excited because I will meet my best friends and make new friends. But my mum and dad prayed for me so I feel better already.

Debbie is excited for school because her teacher said that she has a lot of presents in her cubby hole. Debbie is not nervous at all :)

DIY Gingerbread Man

Won a DIY Gingerbread Man Kit from The J Babies :)

The kids had fun decorating their Gingerbread Man on Christmas day!

Ta-Da!!! The final product! I must say that they were very creative :)
