Bangkok Holiday

For B$700, we took an interesting MPV from airport to Amari Watergate. Traffic was smooth as we arrived early at 8.35am BKK time.

Got a free upgrade to a Grand Deluxe Room. I like the feel of checking into a room with clean and neat sheets and well-stocked toilet amenities. The last time I stayed here was in 2009 with the kids. Would gladly come back here again on the next trip.

Not wanting to waste time, we took the BTS to Chatukchat Market. It was my first time there... Huge market with rows and rows of EVERTHING! We probably only covered 50% of the market and settled down at the side for some yummy Yellow Rice with Fried Chicken :) and walked till we couldn't walk anymore.

Amari Watergate is conveniently located opposite Platinum Fashion Mall, which in my opinion, is better than shopping at anywhere else in Bangkok. After shopping, we simply unloaded our loot in our rooms and then head out again for dinner and massage.

For about S$7 for an hour of Foot or Thai Massage, there are alot of massage parlours to choose from along the street beside our hotel! We were spoilt for choice. Ended up trying different ones every night.

We did what tourist would on the 3rd day - visit to Madame Tussauds. They had a Late Savers Ticket offer at 50% discount, where you visit from 5-9pm for B$400 instead of B$800. This was the best option as we could shop during the day, visit Madame Tussauds in the evening and then head out for dinner after that :) And 4 hours was MORE THAN enough for us to walk through the whole exhibition!

Last day was reserved for shopping at Terminal 21 Shopping Mall. The nine floors at Terminal 21 house some 600 shops, a Cineplex, Gourmet Market (supermarket) and a food court with all kinds of mouthwatering Thai and international fare. Fantastic buys here. A must-go mall for my next trip to BKK.

Our return flight was as late as we could get :)

Yes, I bought chocolate and cookies because there was a gourmet sale at the foyer of CentralWorld :) Who says you can only shop for tees and accessories, haha... And did I forget to mention Naraya in the same mall! Non-stop shopping crowd throughout the time we were there :)

Final picture of my "harvest" from Bangkok!!!

Yumz @ Bangkok

Beginning of this year, I set a personal resolution to make an overseas trip without JX and the kids. Yes, I have never travelled without them ever since we got married. However, I was prepared with dataroaming and a Thailand SIM card for the children to call me anytime.

So, 4 of us embarked on our 4D3N "mummies only" Bangkok holiday! First of all, we had to fly in style.... what else but Singapore Airlines :) My previous stay in Amari Watergate was pleasant; we decided to stay there this time :)

And this post is all about FOOD in Bangkok :) Cheap and yummy :)

Disney Channel - Phineas and Ferb

Thanks to Ed Unloaded and the people at Disney Channel; my children received a Phineas and Ferb Goodie Bag.

The bag contains a folder, a notebook, a pencil case and a towel! Great gifts for my children as they are fans of the cartoon :)

A Day Out At Sentosa

During the March holidays, we brought the kids to Sentosa on a Wednesday to take advantage of the Double Wednesday Promotion at Wave House Sentosa. Everything; Waves, Food, Drinks going at 1 For 1 :) What better time to bring the kids for some pizza and nachos beside the beach!

I did not expect the children to be "bold" enough; we did not pack their swim wear. End up promising Denise to bring her back again.

However, they had fun at the beach! Not having proper swim wear did not stop them from having a blast!

Tried the Skyline Luge for the first time! Part go-cart, part toboggan, the Luge offers a truly unique outdoor experience suitable for all ages that is not found anywhere else in Singapore or Southeast Asia. The ride up was very scenic! However, we were more concerned about not losing our slippers :p

Debbie didn't make it for the height limit to ride the Luge on her own, but we sure had a fun time riding it together :) Next on our to-do list at Sentosa would be the iFly Singapore.
